Trapped - A Novel of Terror

TERRIFIED...
It was supposed to be a harmless camping trip. Six wayward teenagers who'd run into trouble with the law, and their court-appointed guardians, Sara and Martin Randhurst. Three nights on a small, deserted island off of Michigan's upper peninsula. A time to bond, to learn, to heal.

Then Martin told a campfire story about the island's history. Of the old civil war prison hidden in there, and the starving confederate soldiers who resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. Everyone thought it was funny. They even laughed when Martin pretended to be dragged off into the woods.
But Martin didn't come back. And neither did Sara when she went in search of him.

Then the laughter stopped.

A Lonely Resurrection (previously published as Hard Rain/Blood From Blood)

All John Rain wants is to get out of the killing business. But with his discretion, his reliability, and his unique talent for death by "natural causes," no one is willing to let him just retire. So when an old nemesis from the Japanese national police force comes to him with a new job--eliminate Murakami, a killer even more fearsome than Rain himself--Rain knows he can't refuse.

Aided by an achingly desirable half Brazilian, half Japanese exotic dancer he knows he shouldn't trust, Rain pursues his quarry through underground no-holds-barred fight clubs, mobbed-up hostess bars, and finally into the heart of a shadow war between the CIA and the yakuza. It's a war Rain can't win, but also one he can't afford to lose--a war where the distinctions between friend and foe and truth and deceit are as murky as the rain-slicked streets of Tokyo.

Jim Mann is a homebody. While he trades grain commodities out of his house in a western suburb of Minneapolis, he spends most of his time helping his neighbors. If they ask, he helps. If they don’t ask, he offers. Everyone on Barbosa Street thinks of him as Handy.

It would have been a peaceful life if he hadn’t trusted his neighbors. If he hadn’t traded home repair work for Bo Stinson’s accounting expertise. If he hadn’t fallen for Gustav Olson’s long-lost daughter. If he hadn’t, in true DIY stubbornness, tried to do it all himself.

Dead Blow Hammer tells the story of how one misstep—in this case, the first step on the stairway to Angie Stinson’s bedroom—drew Handy Mann into a life-or-death struggle with evil he never imagined could be so close at hand, a struggle he will need every tool in his toolbox to survive.

Harbored Secrets

Blinny Platt's life story has been one filled with longings and betrayal, a legacy that unfolds with all the complexities of a conspiracy. Even as a small girl, she should have known, connected the whispers and snippets, but never did - Not until her secretive step-mother tossed a cache of poems on her lap, exposing lonesome words that break the heart.

After years of internal angst, Blinny suddenly feels compelled to leave her father's ranch to buy land and build a home herself. In her few restful moments, she finds the image of her mother lingering in the acres around her, in the toast-browns of the prairie grasses, in the colors beneath the browns, in the hint of deep green lingering at the base of seemingly dead grass - the promise of life to come. Maman would always be part of the landscape - first thin and graceful, then cumbersome with child, then wistful and wan, then gone, leaving behind an emptiness she had not prepared Blinny for. The mystery left in the ashes of a burned home unravels slowly, until finally, Blinny learns of the last betrayal, and the truth of why the Platt family fractured.

Old Souls are men and women whose bond of love is so strong it transcends the test of time. Sometimes, it’s even coupled with deception and danger…

Even though she's never been there before, she recalls details about the house that only someone who actually lived in it would know. When she and Jack attend a Blue Moon Voodoo ceremony, they share a vision and realize they’re old souls who’ve been reunited. Their joyous reunion is short-lived; for neither can recall what happened past a certain event in their previous life. Mary’s determination to find the key to their past is fraught with danger. When she learns that members of a local Voodoo cult have vowed to protect her from harm, she can’t help but wonder who’s going to protect her from them.

Or worse.

Now Brant will need his inconsistent and sometimes unreliable psychic ability more than he ever did in Vietnam and what came after… He reconnects with his Vietnam buddies, some of them ex-cops, to help him pry Kit from Goran’s clutches.
Brant becomes rescuer, avenging angel -- and executioner. In his quest, there may be redemption for his own past sins. Or there may only be new sins…
If you liked the movie "Taken," let SAVAGE NIGHTS take you much, much farther into the darkness.... Will appeal to fans of "Taken" and Lee Child's Reacher books, but only if they prefer a pulls-no-punches hard-noir thriller that's not for the faint of heart.

Silver (An OgmiosTeam Adventure)

Sometimes the truth is anything but honest.
Sometimes the stories everyone knows by heart are lies.
Sometimes lies are all we have left.
Two thousand years ago, thirty silver Tyrian shekels were paid to secure the most infamous betrayal of all time. Melted down by the grandsons of Judas Iscariot, in the dark heart of the Sicarii fortress, Masada, the silver was re-forged as a dagger. When the Sicarii zealots committed mass suicide in AD73 the dagger of Iscariot and the truth of his sacrifice were lost. Until now.

A religious cult calling itself the Disciples of Judas has risen in the Middle East. Its influence is pernicious, its reach long. In thirteen cities across Europe thirteen people martyr themselves in the name of Judas, promising forty days and forty nights of terror. They twist the words of ancient prophecies to drive home the fear. Everything you believe in will be proved wrong. Everything you hold true will fail.
Day by day the West wakes to increasingly harrowing acts of terror. As fear cripples the capitals of Europe, who will be the next to fall? London? Rome? Berlin?

In a race against time - and prophecy - believing the terrorists intend to assassinate the Pope as part of their plan to bring down the Catholic Church, Sir Charles Wyndham's team of combat specialists, codename Ogmios, tracks a labyrinthine course through truth, shades of truth and outright lies that takes them from the backstreets of London to the shadow of Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin and all the way into the heart of the Holy See itself.
Forty days and forty nights of fear. And today is day one.

  1. Oh that is a tough one I read so many great books last year but I have to say that the most anticipated book for me was Western Ties by Jayne Rylon and Mari Carr..I loved this series and this is the last book and it was so very good and so very sad at the same time. I love a book that pulls the heart strings and makes you laugh and cry. My email is joni.payne78@yahoo.com

  2. I have to say the best book I read last year has to be "50 Shades of Grey". I just love the way Christian and Anastasia's story played out. The book had it all: romance, drama, mystery, suspense and the HEA! 50 SOG is one of my favorites, definately in my top 10 list of books I love.

  3. I would have to say the best book so far this year for me has been any of the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith. They are not what I normally would read but really have enjoyed them. And I love that they aren't the same as the T.V. show. Thanks! beotch2971@gmail.com

  8. How do I pick just one!!!? I read so many wonderful ones last year! And many of those were series books (all of which I enjoyed)! The first was the Hunger Games series, the Pure Wildfire series, the Calamity Jane Series, the Fatal Series, Fifty Shades of Gray series, and the Bluegrass series on my favorites from last year. But if I have to pick one, I guess I'm gonna have to go with "Bluegrass State of Mind" since I myself am from a very small town in KY. It had a little of everything in the book. And being from a small town myself I could really relate to the characters (town gossip, looking out for one another, etc.). It was a very enjoyable read and made me think about my small hometown & miss it. lefler.vicki@gmail.com

  9. It's hard to pick just one book, I read quite a few. I guess I will go with Black Dagger Brotherhood's Dark Lover. I could not put this book down, and it was just the sort of vampire book that I had never read before and I just love it so I had to go and get the entire series.I will be starting Lover Avenged today, yeah I know I have not read them all. I take a break in between each book to read other books so I can drag it out until Lover at Last comes out.

  11. That is really hard because I read all the time and I have ready a lot of AMAZING boooks this past year. If I had to choose one book, or a series of books that I thought was the best, it would have to be Teresa Hill's McRae series. It is a series of 4 books, each builds a little on the previous one, but they stand alone as well. This series was everything that a GREAT series should be. It make me laugh, it made me cry and at the end of each book, when I reached the last page it made me sigh an want for more. Not because the stories were lacking or rushed, but because they were just that good.

  12. This is probably the hardest question I've had to answer. I would have to say the best one I read was JD Nelson "Night Aberrations" It was an adult PNR, but the way that she wrote it was just enough teasing scenes to make you squirm without giving into temptation, which just made you want to keep reading. It was so good I read it overnight. I can't wait to see what her sequel has in store for us.
