For some, the Devil introduces himself as an average man. For others, he crushes their souls and makes them bleed. For Jack Harper, the Devil renders himself a savior.
But things are changing.

Once a loyal follower of Cyrus and an accomplished killer, Jack Harper now begins to question everything. There are new, strange forces at work that are intruding on Jack's kills, abilities, and very being. Maybe, though, deep down Jack has been waiting for this intrusion, and maybe Cyrus is not as powerful as he seems.

For the first time, the internet phenomenon is now in print!

Beheading a zombie isn't easy in a world where you're more afraid of the living than the dead.

Adrian Ring's simple life is thrown into chaos when the world is ripped apart by a plague of undead and legions of desperate survivors. Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors. He saves his cat Otis, but shoots his mom. Pretty successful, all things considered.

Dark Recollections is the first part of Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day." Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named 'Mr. Journal," and through short stories that entwine with his tales that bring forth dark visions of a world being eaten alive by an unimaginable evil. Adrian's Undead Diary is an eight part epic about a solitary, guilt stricken man that didn't think he deserved to live, but realizes very soon that he survived, and suffered for a reason.

What would you do if you woke up one morning to find the world you took for granted was gone?

It’s a beautiful sunny day when Cass wakes up to find herself alone. It should be just a normal day – there’s a beach to enjoy with family and friends and the summer is at it’s height. Except today is not a normal day. Today there is no one around. In fact, the only living creatures Cass can see are birds. And a horse. Where is everyone?
As Cass struggles to find other survivors in this strange new world where nature is taking back the land, she discovers that being alone might not be the worst thing. It depends on who or what else is out there...

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: To those of you for whom this matters: this book contains non-graphic scenes of lesbian intimacy. It also contains similar, heterosexual scenes. Consider yourself informed.

The time: late 1985, early 1986. The place: Haiti.

“Bloodless Coup” is the story of the final months of the brutal Jean Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier regime. The narrator is the newly arrived Coast Guard Attaché to the American Embassy in Port-au-Prince. The “Commandant” quickly becomes an unwitting catalyst in a dangerous and complex plot to drive Baby Doc out of Haiti. His friendship with a powerful Haitian houngan (voodoo priest) leads him into a world of intrigue, magic, and mysticism that is far beyond anything he has ever experienced. He finds himself immersed in a bizarre world where zombis are everywhere, where the boundary between reality and dream constantly fluctuates and dissolves, and where life and death are interchangeable.

As the death throes of the Duvalier dictatorship become increasingly violent, the Commandant is caught in a whirlpool of seduction, betrayal, brutality, and revolution. He learns what all visitors to Haiti learn: Haiti is a different planet, with different rules. It infects all who come there with its desperation, its energy, its sadness . . . and its hopelessness. He learns that there can be no such thing as a “bloodless coup” in Haiti. Everything in Haiti is written in blood.

The year is 2029. Ellie Bergeron is seventeen when a war-borne plague destroys civilization and raises the dead. Now, born to easy living, vid games and malls, she must become something new to survive. A killer girl.

June Blacker is a sensible, respectable woman – a language teacher beloved by her pupils. But she seems doomed to become an old maid. She has never had a lover because nobody wants to kiss a fat girl. And June is fat – very fat indeed.
But then she meets Ignacio, her holiday romance. Ignacio thinks she is beautiful. He wants to kiss her over and over again. And a strange thing happens to June. She starts losing weight – a lot of weight. Could Ignacio be THE MANTEQUERO?

For fans of Marion Zimmer Bradley's "Sword & Sorceress", Tamora Pierce, Robin McKinley, and Jennifer Roberson, here is a new story of a woman's fight against an ancient evil.

When her life is torn apart by sorcery and murder, young Caina Amalas joins the mysterious Ghosts, the legendary spies and assassins of the Emperor of Nighmar. She learns the secrets of disguise and stealth, of assassination and infiltration.

But even that might not be enough to save her.

For the evil that destroyed her family seeks to devour the entire world...

After agreeing to house-sit for a mysterious homeowner, a struggling musician starts hearing voices in the middle of the day and having nightmares so frightening that he screams himself awake. Teetering on the edge of madness, he begins to suspect he may not be alone in the house, and that there are plans in store for him more terrifying than he could possibly imagine.

It's a week into the third war to end all wars. Jacob and Worm are American soldiers battling the the Soviet horde as it spills across the West German border. The fighting is desperate, the fighting is bloody, but it's about to get a whole lot worse. Both men are soon to discover that the Soviets won't stay down, even when they are dead. It is against this backdrop of destruction that Americans battle Russians, a demon raises the dead, and a soldier confronts his greatest fear. Get Mark's military-adventure, zombie thriller right here.

What if the horrors of a seemingly innocent and fun haunted house attraction were real? What if someone were inside with you, stalking you and feeding on your fear? What if every corner of the maze were deadly? What if you couldn't get out?

The Horror tells the story of Lisa and Alan, two college teens visiting a theatrical haunted maze themed after local urban legends. Once inside it becomes clear that the macabre, grisly sights are not just smoke and mirrors, and gallons of fake blood, but the gory work of a deranged psychopath who is inside the house, hunting them.

This 43-page one-shot novelette (aka an extended short story) was a labor of love, a tribute to the slasher genre, and was inspired by one of author Randy L. Shaffer's worst fears: that someone sinister could easily stalk an unassuming guest in a haunted house maze. The result is a terrifying, atmospheric ride through a fast-paced, nail-biting narrative that simply does not let up. Be on the lookout for a follow-up one-shot in fall 2014.

Also, check out Randy L. Shaffer's other books, including the spirited Christmas novella, Vampire Zombie Claus, his "Goosebumps for adults" short story series, Wicked Neighborhood (with titles including The Stray Cats and The Foot), and the dramatic short story, Does She Smile at Home?

Moss was not prepared for The Event. No one really was. When the Zombie Apocalypse came crashing down, there was no time for thinking, only surviving.

A monster proves a legend true.

Jen Nichols is living large and ready to enjoy the summer. Riding the unemployment train, a chance encounter with Hillboro’s newest resident alters her plans. While Jen insists the attack could have been fatal, everyone, including her boyfriend Phil, minimizes her claims. Even the police dismiss her account of what they consider a skirmish until a dead body surfaces. Half-eaten and discarded in a ravine, it’s the first clue that someone very evil is hungry. But who or what that someone is remains a mystery and shrouded in folklore.

A vandalized cemetery located hundreds of miles away may hold the key to solving the crime. The digging up of that unmarked grave has awakened more than the creature put to a permanent rest. But only a mother still grieving over the loss of a child understands the implications. As she sets out to stop more murders from happening, the only question for her is, will she be too late.

Naked. Incoherent. Covered with blood. That's how Detective Frank Blackburn finds her--a beautiful Jane Doe brandishing a pair of scissors near the scene of a brutal murder. Is she the perpetrator? Or is she the only eyewitness to the handiwork of Vincent Van Gogh, a twisted serial killer with an "artistic" bent? To find out, Blackburn takes her to renowned psychiatrist Dr. Michael Tolan. But Tolan has problems of his own. One year ago today, his beloved wife Abby was savagely slaughtered by the very same serial killer.
And when Jane Doe starts saying things that only Abby could know... about long-buried secrets...about the night of Abby's death...Tolan finds himself headed for a confrontation with his past that could well lead to a breakdown.

Now it's up to Frank Blackburn to find the connection between Jane, Tolan...and Vincent--before the killer strikes again.
Be sure to check out Kiss Her Goodbye and Kill Her Againwhich feature ATF Agent Jack Donovan and forensic hypnotist Daniel Pope in solo adventures, both of whom will be teaming up with Frank Blackburn in Rob's new Fourth Dimension Thriller series, coming in 2014.

Nestled in the woods of Wisconsin, Safe Haven is miles from everything. With one road in and out, this is a town so peaceful it has never needed a full-time police force. Until now...

A helicopter has crashed on the outskirts of town and something terrible has been unleashed. A classified secret weapon programmed to kill anything that stands in its way. Now it’s headed for the nearest lights to do what it does best. Isolate. Terrorize. Annihilate.

Soon all phone lines are dead and the road is blocked. Safe Haven’s only chance for survival rests on the shoulders of an aging county sheriff. And as the body count rises, the sheriff realizes something even more terrifying - maybe death hasn’t come to his little town by accident...

AFRAID by Jack Kilborn
Are you afraid of the dark? You will be.

Dean and Jess knew the house had a tragic past but it did not stop them from making the move with their young daughters. It was supposed to be a new - and bigger - home with which they could continue to build upon their already established happy memories but as the house's past begins to haunt them they realize it is not the dream they first hoped it to be.

From Matt Shaw (author of The Cabin, Happy Ever After and Sick B*stards) comes a new novella; a tale of psychological horror and slow-building tension leading to an unforgettable climax.

Come one, come all! The Carniepunk Midway promises you every thrill and chill a traveling carnival can provide. But fear not! Urban fantasy’s biggest stars are here to guide you through this strange and dangerous world. . . .

RACHEL CAINE’s vampires aren’t child’s play, as a naïve teen discovers when her heart leads her far, far astray in “The Cold Girl.” With “Parlor Tricks,” JENNIFER ESTEP pits Gin Blanco, the Elemental Assassin, against the Wheel of Death and some dangerously creepy clowns. SEANAN McGUIRE narrates a poignant, ethereal tale of a mysterious carnival that returns to a dangerous town after twenty years in “Daughter of the Midway, the Mermaid, and the Open, Lonely Sea.” KEVIN HEARNE’s Iron Druid and his wisecracking Irish wolfhound discover in “The Demon Barker of Wheat Street” that the impossibly wholesome sounding Kansas Wheat Festival is actually not a healthy place to hang out. With an eerie, unpredictable twist, ROB THURMAN reveals the fate of a psychopath stalking two young carnies in “Painted Love.”

There are no Happily Ever Afters in the new Undead World. There are no vacations or time-outs or do-overs. There is only the endless daily grind of living or the shockingly horrific fact of death that hangs over every living creature left on the face of the earth. For some that death lies in a single mistake or a moment of bad luck, or simply in fate.
For others that hard death hounds them day and night, relentlessly.
When a huge bounty is placed on their heads, Neil Martin’s misfit family is set upon by ruthless bounty hunters. They are pursued by sociopaths, sadistic ex-soldiers and of course the warped Believers of New Eden. There is no refuge, no place of safety, no shining city on a hill that will take them in. They are outcasts and doomed to flee from their enemies until they’re forced to make one great stand.

With the heart of Stand By Me and the genius horror of Christine, Mile 81 is Stephen King unleashing his imagination as he drives past one of those road signs...

At Mile 81 on the Maine Turnpike is a boarded up rest stop on a highway in Maine. It's a place where high school kids drink and get into the kind of trouble high school kids have always gotten into. It's the place where Pete Simmons goes when his older brother, who's supposed to be looking out for him, heads off to the gravel pit to play "paratroopers over the side." Pete, armed only with the magnifying glass he got for his tenth birthday, finds a discarded bottle of vodka in the boarded up burger shack and drinks enough to pass out.

Not much later, a mud-covered station wagon (which is strange because there hadn't been any rain in New England for over a week) veers into the Mile 81 rest area, ignoring the sign that says "closed, no services." The driver's door opens but nobody gets out.

Doug Clayton, an insurance man from Bangor, is driving his Prius to a conference in Portland. On the backseat are his briefcase and suitcase and in the passenger bucket is a King James Bible, what Doug calls "the ultimate insurance manual," but it isn't going to save Doug when he decides to be the Good Samaritan and help the guy in the broken down wagon. He pulls up behind it, puts on his four-ways, and then notices that the wagon has no plates.

Ten minutes later, Julianne Vernon, pulling a horse trailer, spots the Prius and the wagon, and pulls over. Julianne finds Doug Clayton's cracked cell phone near the wagon door — and gets too close herself. By the time Pete Simmons wakes up from his vodka nap, there are a half a dozen cars at the Mile 81 rest stop. Two kids — Rachel and Blake Lussier — and one horse named Deedee are the only living left. Unless you maybe count the wagon.

This collection features a menagerie of horror stories. Some are scary. Some are disturbing. Some are funny. Meet werewolves, vampires, zombies, psychopaths, aliens, cannibals, ghosts, and various things that go bump in the night.

Previously published in dozens of anthologies and magazines, some of these tales are mild, but some are extreme. Let the reader beware...

THE TANK (July) - A man wakes up trapped inside a metal tank. He's not sure who put him there or why, he just knows that he needs to escape.

WELCOME TO PARADISE (August) - A young woman with psychic powers and her three friends become stranded in a town where the people won't let them leave.

SKINWALKERS (September) - Three bounty hunters in the Old West are attacked by skinwalkers while transporting a prisoner. This story has a slight connection to my book Ancient Enemy.

THE SPIRIT OF HALLOWEEN (October) - Three friends try to outdo each other with frights on Halloween night.

RATTRAP (November) - A young couple believes they have rats in the walls of their house - but their pest problem is much worse than they ever imagined.

THE VENDING MACHINE (December) - Nine year old Sammy discovers a broken vending machine that seems to grant his wishes, but he must be very careful what he wishes for.

Thirteen tales of original terror penned in the dead of the night with only the glow of a computer for light. The collection of short stories runs the gamut of horror. Within its bloody pages you will find a slasher clown, a blood red church, a little girl locked in a closet, a haunted sex doll, etc. 13 Nightmares is a fine collection of terror for the short story lover, but be warned. Some of these stores are not for the faint of heart. Do you dare enter a world where the supernatural, the macabre, and the horrific collide?

WARNING: THIS IS AN EXTREME HORROR NOVEL. There is gore. There is bad language. There are scenes of a sexual nature.

PORN tells the tragic tale of Victoria Sheldon - a young lady who wanted nothing more than to become an actress. With times being hard Victoria finds herself in the world of the Adult Movie Industry where she soon carves a name for herself. The offers are flowing in, as is the money, as she becomes more and more popular amongst the producers but then she meets him...A man with an offer she can't refuse even if she wanted to. A man who has other ideas about how pornographic films should be filmed. A man catering for a much, much darker audience.

From the Dark Mind behind Sick B*stards, Tortured and Rotting Dead F*cks - PORN is a violent tale of sex and revenge. It is intended for a mature audience only.

As the flames of war threaten to engulf the globe, a new threat emerges.
A ‘deadly flu’, the like of which no one has ever seen or imagined, relentlessly spreads, gripping the world by the throat and slowly squeezing the life from humanity.
Eight soldiers, accustomed to operating below the radar, carrying out the dirty work of a modern democracy, become trapped within the carnage of a new and terrifying world.
Deniable and completely expendable. That is how their government considers them, and as the dead begin to walk, Stan and his men must fight to survive.

$3.99 Title

Monsters exist.

Linguist Andy Dennison-Jones knows this all too well. He and his veterinarian wife, Sun, have been chased by them before, and barely escaped from a secret underground government facility with their lives.

Now they once again find themselves trapped alongside a collection of creatures straight out of hell. Fighting with them is an unlikely group of misfits, including a misplaced British kid, a former spec-ops soldiers, and a strange Irishman who might be the oldest living thing on earth—if he's even alive at all.

Filled with the kind of slam-bang action, wicked scares, and sly humor that have earned J.A. Konrath and Iain Rob Wright millions of fans, HOLES IN THE GROUND is both a collaboration and a continuation of both authors' previous work (ORIGIN by Konrath and FINAL WINTER by Wright) but also serves as a perfect introduction to their universes.

The devil you know is just as bad as the devil you don't...

From newcomer Jordan Crouch and Blake Crouch, author of the Top-10 Kindle-bestsellers Run, Stirred, and Fully Loaded, comes Eerie, a chilling, gothic thriller in the classic tradition of The Shining and The Sixth Sense.

On a crisp autumn evening in 1980, seven-year-old Grant Moreton and his five-year-old sister Paige were nearly killed in a mysterious accident in the Cascade Mountains that left them orphans.

It's been thirty years since that night. Grant is now a detective with the Seattle Police Department and long estranged from his sister. But his investigation into the bloody past of a high-class prostitute has led right to Paige's door, and what awaits inside is beyond his wildest imagining.

His only hope of survival and saving his sister will be to confront the terror that inhabits its walls, but he is completely unprepared to face the truth of what haunts his sister's brownstone.

This 65,000-word novel also contains a bonus interview with Blake and Jordan.

About the Authors:

BLAKE CROUCH was born near the piedmont town of Statesville, North Carolina in 1978. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated in 2000 with degrees in English and Creative Writing. Blake is the author of five novels and numerous short stories. He lives with his family in southwest Colorado, where he is at work on a new book.

JORDAN CROUCH was born in the piedmont of North Carolina in 1984. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Creative Writing. Jordan lives in Seattle, Washington. EERIE is his first novel.

[In SNOWBOUND], Crouch builds suspense as lines blur between good and bad, and plot twists continue to the last sentence. Absolutely compelling.

ABANDON…demands to be read in one sitting, so you can better appreciate the beauty of Crouch’s storytelling…[O]ne of those books that almost instantly puts you in the mind of a classic.

Weaving the past and present together with such seamless skill that from the prologue to the last page, this book captures the imagination. [ABANDON] has the arc and flow of a master storyteller. Easily my favorite book of this year.

Highly recommended, this is easily one of the best this year.

ABANDON is terrific…a great storyteller hitting his stride.

Gut wrenching...the writing is tight, the plots exciting, the suspense unending...Crouch tops my list.

Expertly paced and viscerally effective, with many surprises and genuine chills.

Blake Crouch is the most exciting new thriller writer I've read in years.

Harrowing...terrific...a whacked out combination of Stephen King and Cormac McCarthy.

Crouch delivers his description of place with vivid prose...his carefully crafted characters make the story immediate, intense and thoroughly believable.

This is a complex, cleverly constructed novel of motive, and Crouch takes his time bringing us through the story...a great debut. Crouch is an author to watch.

Sequel to Desert Places and prequel to Crouch's and Konrath's STIRRED...

Seven years ago, suspense novelist Andrew Thomas's life was shattered when he was framed for a series of murders. The killer's victims were unearthed on Andrew's lakefront property, and since he was wanted by the FBI, Andrew had no choice but to flee and to create a new identity. Andrew does just that in a cabin tucked away in the remote wilderness near Haines Junction, Yukon. His only link to society is by e-mail, through which he learns that all the people he ever loved are being stalked and murdered. Culminating in the spooky and secluded Outer Banks of North Carolina, the paths of Andrew Thomas, a psychotic named Luther Kite, and a young female detective collide. LOCKED DOORS is a novel of blistering suspense that will scare you to death.

“You're going to hell, Jack Nightingale.”
These are the words that ended Jack Nightingale's career as a police negotiator. Now a struggling private detective, the chilling words return with a vengeance when Jack inherits a mansion with a priceless library—and a terrifying warning from a man who claims to be his father.
Nightingale quickly learns his soul was sold at birth and a devil will come to claim it on his thirty-third birthday, which is just three short weeks away. It’s a hard pill to swallow. He doesn't believe in Hell and probably doesn't believe in Heaven either. But when people close to him start to die horribly, he is led to the inescapable conclusion that real evil may be at work. And if he doesn't find a way out, he'll be damned for eternity.
Dripping with brooding intensity, unrelenting suspense, and surprising wit, United Kingdom thriller master Stephen Leather’s first book in the Nightingale series is a riveting, heart-stopping mystery with extraordinary range and power.
